2008: Third Olympic Games participation… Was on 1996 and 2004 Olympic teams… Has enjoyed a strong season racing in the Dauphine Libéré, Volta Cataluny and Pays Basque Stage races as well as a series of Grand Prix races… In 2007 suffered from pneumonia which forced him to withdraw from the Giro d’Italia and Dauphine LIbéré stage races…2006 season disrupted by hard crash at Tour of Flanders… In 2006 wrote Fitness Cycling with wife Dede Demet a book for cyclists learning to get fit… Reserve on Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Tour de France team…

In 2002, raced for United States Postal Service Cycling Team and rode in support of its leaders including Lance Armstrong… During the 2004 season he chronicled life on the road with the US Postal team in a book published by Velopress titled, "Inside the Postal Bus". An excellent writer, keeps fans informed through his website with emotional journals about life as a pro cyclist…
