Association and Louis Garneau unveil Jersey for the
2008 Olympic and Paralympic Teams
Beaupré, Québec
– Louis Garneau - the Canadian Cycling Association’s
(CCA) 24-year supplier of Canadian Team competitive
wear - today launched the official jersey for the 2008
Olympic Team and Paralympic Teams headed to Beijing.
The special edition was designed and produced by the
Louis Garneau Team in St-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec.
CCA is proud to partner with Louis Garneau for the 100%
Canadian made quality product which highlights the expertise
and technology of its long-standing partner Louis Garneau
Sports. The jersey was created with ultra-light Carbon
Ion, exclusive Louis Garneau material, which reduces
the temperature variation by three times. The design
includes the words Canada, inscribed on the sides of
the jerseys, out of respect for the host country, China.
The shorts are designed with Airgel shamois for comfort
including detailed bands for optimum muscular support.
Louis Garneau Sport highly structured design will enable
Canada’s cyclists to focus solely on their performance.

Canadian Cycling Association and
Louis Garneau unveil Jersey for the 2008 Olympic

The Canadian Cycling Team will include 15 athletes
at the Olympic Games in Beijing, August 8th –
24th. The track cycling nominees are Gina Grain of Burnaby,
B.C., on the women’s side and Zach Bell of Watson
Lake, Yukon and Martin Gilbert of Chateauguay, Que.,
for the men. The mountain bike nominees are Marie-Hélène
Prémont of Chateau-Richer, Que., and Catharine
Pendrel of Kamloops, B.C., for the women and Seamus
McGrath of Millgrove, Ont., and Geoff Kabush of Victoria
for the men. The road cycling nominees are Alex Wrubleski
of Regina, Leigh Hobson of Cambridge, Ont., and Erinne
Willock of Victoria for the women and Ryder Hesjedal
of Victoria, Michael Barry of Toronto and Svein Tuft
of Langley, B.C., for the men. The BMX riders are Scott
Erwood of Surrey, B.C., and Samantha Cools of Airdrie,
Alta.
The Para-Cycling Team headed to Beijing for the Paralympic
Games (6th-17 September) include 13 athletes : Alexandre

Stéphane Côté (Roberval, Québec),
Rico Morneau (Ste-Martine, Québec), Shauna Maria

Louis Garneau and the Canadian Cycling Association
have been partners since 1984 after Canada’s illustrious
cyclist – Louis Garneau – retired from competition
following the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. It
was for the LA Games that Garneau’s wife, Monique
Arseneau, produced the four jerseys and shorts for the
Canadian Cycling Team, when Steve Bauer won the silver
medal in the road race. Following LA, the couple became
entrepreneurs and manufacturers of cycling wear.
